The verdict
The most consistently recommended garden kneeler in published testing, and the reason is the arms. Getting up from ground level is what quietly ends people’s gardening, and a frame with something to push against postpones that for years. Sturdy metal frame rated to around 225lb, a tool pocket, and it folds flat. It photographs terribly.

What it is like to live with
This is the gift on our lists most likely to be dismissed and most likely to be used. Nobody is moved unwrapping a metal frame. Everyone who gardens with stiff knees uses it every single time they go out.
The reversible design is what makes it worth buying over a simple kneeling pad: one way up it is padding, the other way up it is a seat at a workable height with arms. If you are giving it to someone who will be embarrassed by a practical present, pair it with something small and pretty.
